M/FW2022 Urban Garden Runway

M/FW2022 Urban Garden Runway
Another success for Urban Runway, featuring some of Melbourne's best designers.

The Urban Garden Runway took place in one of our city's newest landmarks, Wesley Place, which played host to the opening event for M/FW '22.

In front of Wesley Place's picturesque and Instagram-worthy blue stone church, Melbourne fashionistas gathered and eagerly awaited the runway show, and rightfully so, with a line-up of designers including Acler, Asiyam, Atoir, Buluuy Mirrii, Dom Bagnato, Gorman, Kuwaii, Morrison, Ngali, Torannce and Viceta Wang the atmosphere was buzzing!

Like the crowd it attracted, the runway collections are best described as unique, vibrant, and distinctive. From long elegant hemlines to flowing, bold, and gothic shapes, one could find a lot of show-stopping designs, embellished details, and stunning accessories throughout.

Melbourne Fashion week 22

Here's a brief recap of some of our most memorable runway moments:

In this ethereal transformation journey, we're escorted by patterned silk silhouettes from NGALI, bold colours, elaborate prints and rouging voluminous sleeves from Viceta Wang and ACLER.

Once again, ASIYUM wowed us with intricate pleating, delicate print details and oversize coats paired with matching bucket hats, scarves, and leggings.

MFW 22 Acler

A new kind of chic boho was created by Torrance and Morrison with plenty of floral prints, longer hemlines and tiers.

MFW22 Torannce

Several collections feature ruffles, rouging, and tiers, indicating that this is a trend that will stick around this season, like off-the-shoulder dresses.

This season's Urban Runway also featured DOM BAGNATO, tailoring for both the spring carnival and the warmer months. Blues and muted pastels dominate the colour palette. The re-emergence of the safari suit was definitely one of my favourites in this Homme collection.

Global Runways have embraced inclusivity in recent years, and MFW was no exception, with models looking spectacular in collections that showcased individuality.
