By 2030, they hope to reduce the number of men dying prematurely by 25%.
As well as the usual activities - growing a moustache with sponsorship from friends and family and ‘Hosting a Mo-ment’ fundraising events - the Movember campaign has introduced new ways to participate this year. You can ‘Move for Movember’, committing to running or walking 60km across the month to represent the 60 men lost to suicide every hour, or ‘Mo Your Own Way’, picking any sort of challenge to set up sponsorship for. Such a variety of options means that everyone, regardless of their ability to sprout distinguished facial hair, can take part in a fundraising challenge to support men’s health.
Starting with 30 men in Melbourne in 2003, over 6 million people around the globe have since participated. You can follow this year’s fundraising on the Movember app, and donate here.
