Joining forces to create the ultimate sporty chic collection, today the two brands launched an immersive activation, to celebrate the official launch of the esteemed ADIDAS X GUCCI collection.
Positioned in the heart of Sydney’s bustling Pitt Street, locals watched on as Adidas athletes – Ian Thorpe and Stephen Coniglio – and respected media, participated in a friendly, yet slightly competitive table tennis tournament. Aiming to channel the playful spirit at the heart of the new collection, the interactive table tennis tournament, was just that. With the collections selection of ready to wear pieces offering up everything from suede loafers to silk scarfers and golfing bags, Alessandro Michele proved there is little the luxury brand can’t make fashionable. Contrasting between the white three stripes of Adidas and the red and green web of Gucci, garments within the collection display the Adidas signature on one side, and Gucci’s infamous emblem on the other. Making headlines for more reason than one, the launch of ADIDAS X GUCCI is a also a cause for celebration. The merge between a reputable high street brand and youthful streetwear brand, is something the fashion world needs more of, sooner rather than later. Distributed through designated stores, online and ephemeral Gucci Pop-Ups, we predict this newly crafted collection to a sportwear sell out.
Wondering what to do this long weekend? Why not check out the ADIDAS X GUCCI pop up for yourself. Splattered with geometric prints, ADIDAS X GUCCI Pitt Street pop up is open to the general public until the 13th of June. Whether you are after a piece from the new and highly sought-after collection, or willing to try your luck at a game of table tennis, this interactive pit stop is not to be missed.
