The Gold Coast has become a luxury must-see destination now that the new Langham Hotel is open on the beachfront! Having had the pleasure of enjoying their five-star facilities, I can confirm it’s worth the hype – so, read on to discover why Queensland’s Langham is my new favourite hotel and why you need to book a stay there #ASAP.
Located just outside Surfers Paradise, the hotel overlooks the ocean and boasts all the luxurious amenities of city life, making it a must-see for designers and holiday-goers alike. As an interior designer myself, I can say with certainty that the interiors are phenomenal; the lavish hotel has 339 luxurious rooms in seventeen variations, offering breathtaking views of the ocean and hinterland.
A real highlight is Camie Lyons' monumental artwork, which adorns the hotel lobby. The bronze sculpture is made of bush vine collected from the Gold Coast hinterlands and measures a stunning seven metres high. The impressive 'Path of a Meandering Soul' was the artist's year-long project, perfectly capturing the intricacy of Queensland's natural environment.
As we entered our suite, a breathtaking sea view greeted us, setting the tone for our stay. The rooms are simple yet stunning in their contemporary elegance, with high ceilings, wood panelling, brass details, and ambient lighting. Our room overlooked the pool and beach, but guests can choose from a range of rooms and residences (including apartments).
Likewise, the amenities are just as luxurious. Complimentary mini-bar trays are provided in the sitting area, complete with a round cloud couch and marble table. However, the bathroom was the suite's crowning glory: it was a symphony of sophistication with double vanities, double shower, and Diptyque handwash.
I particularly loved the bath ritual, through which you can ask housekeeping to fill the tub with your favourite salts while you relax or enjoy some food. You return to your room and unwind in their huge circle bathtub with everything prepared for you – #bougie!
Dining options at the Langham range from the decadent to the light snack. For dinner, Akoya served a superb seafood buffet, while the adjacent Lobby Bar was the perfect place to unwind, meet a friend, or continue dining until late. Almost too pretty to eat, the Langham's signature Afternoon Tea was served in the Palm Court, complete with pastries, biscuits, cakes, scones, and finger-cut sweets.
In recent months, T'ang Court opened as one of the Langham's first fine dining restaurants. One of the Gold Coast's most luxurious dining options, the restaurant offers elevated culinary experiences and seasonal delicacies, from duck pancakes with the Chef's special hoi sin sauce to duck buns with lychee and raspberry sauce.
But let’s not forget that holidays are for relaxation! When travel fatigue sets in, the wellness centre and gym is the perfect place to rejuvenate. The Health Club Chuan Spa offers massages, facials, and cosmetology, while the high-tech gym features private studios with customisable classes and touch-screen controls.
Overall, Queensland's Langham is an impressive luxury hotel, so if you happen to be in Surfers Paradise this summer, I highly suggest dropping by! Whether you stop by the lobby bar for a drink or treat yourself to a luxe weekend, the Langham Gold Coast is definitely a place you'll enjoy.
