Melbourne has officially entered winter mode, so it feels only fitting to spotlight the Winter 25 collection that’s captivated me most this season. As someone endlessly inspired by fashion’s ability to fuse timeless design with directional edge, I couldn’t resist sharing this remarkable offering.
What draws me in? The structure. The architecture. The striking juxtaposition of fabrications and silhouette. It’s a masterclass in tension — controlled volume, sharp tailoring, luxe texture. The palette alone deserves applause. And the attitude? Chérie, ne me fais pas perdre mon temps. (“Darling, don’t waste my time.”)
Anthony Vaccarello’s Women’s Winter 25 collection is less a show, more a lesson in sartorial authority. Set beneath the golden glow of Paris’s Bourse de Commerce, Saint Laurent delivered a collection sculpted with cinematic intensity — where every seam, fold, and proportion spoke of power, precision, and a woman wholly in control.
From the opening look — a cobalt cocoon coat belted with a noir ribbon — Vaccarello made clear this was no homage. This was evolution. He built outerwear as armour: towering shoulders, sculpted sleeves, slouched tailoring wrapped around satin slips and sharp minis in tonal greens, caramel, and black.
Glossed leopard prints, oversized sunglasses, and sculptural earrings delivered glam with a pulse. Hints of rock crystal, a nod to Yves Saint Laurent’s lucky charm, shimmered with quiet reverence.
But it was the closing statement that sealed the mood — voluminous, floor-grazing skirts paired with sheer bustiers, oversized bows, or masculine jackets thrown over the top. Equal parts theatrical and wearable, they dissolved the boundary between fantasy and function.
At Saint Laurent this season, elegance isn’t soft — it’s structural. And femininity? Still seductive, but on its own unapologetic terms.
