Casper Magazine's December issue celebrates her elegance and edge in the sunlit season.
As the golden sun of December bathes Australia in its warm embrace, I, Maria Ugrinovski, along with my dedicated team at Casper Magazine, set out to capture the essence of what it means to bask in the Australian summer. Our latest editorial is not just a collection of images; it's a narrative, weaving together the threads of our diverse and vibrant culture.
At the helm of this creative voyage was Gloria Chol, our stylist. Her Kenyan and South Sudanese-Australian heritage radiated through each ensemble she crafted, telling stories rich in cultural heritage. Take, for instance, the 'Stylish Summer Night' look – it wasn’t merely an outfit but a celebration of the Australian beachside's lively spirit, a testament to the fresh luxury that awaits in summer 2024.
Lisa Mitrov, our makeup artist, added another dimension to our narrative. Their work with Gabriela van Wyk, our muse, was a tribute to natural beauty. Embracing Gabriella’s stunning Afro-textured hair with styles like the "Bantu knots" was not just a style choice but a statement – using products from "Embrace For Every Curl", Lisa championed the cause of supporting ethical, small businesses, mirroring the Australian ethos of diversity and sustainability.
Our vision was brought to life by the masterful eye of Suleiman Thomas. His photography didn't just capture images; it captured the essence of the modern Australian woman – bold, free, and multifaceted. The iconic St Kilda backdrop wasn’t just a location; it was a character in our story, embodying the authentic charm and spirited heart of Australia.
This editorial, dear readers, is my love letter to Australia. It's a celebration of our nation's diverse beauty, cultural richness, and the unbridled freedom that defines our way of life. Through these pages, I invite you to see the Australian summer through our eyes – a canvas of modern elegance, diversity, and the liberty to be unapologetically Australian in this golden country of ours.
