As the winter of 2023 approaches, the fashion and art worlds converge in a spectacular display at the Grand Palais Ephémère in Paris. Saint Laurent proudly announces its role as the official sponsor for the "i need to live" exhibition by the illustrious photographer Juergen Teller, running from December 16, 2023, to January 9, 2024.
Curated by the Réunion des musées nationaux – Grand Palais and supported by Saint Laurent's Anthony Vaccarello, the exhibit is a retrospective of Teller's multifaceted career. It features a diverse array of his personal and commissioned works, including new photographic series, videos, and installations, offering a comprehensive view into his artistic journey.

Juergen Teller is a tremendous photographer whose intelligence, humor, and respect make his work a veritable introspective game, where flashbacks are both tributes and allusions to the founding myths of the Maison Yves Saint Laurent. Our collaborative work for Saint Laurent is all about the search for origins as a creative driving force.
Celebrated for his candid portraits, provocative editorials, and iconic campaigns, Teller stands out in the commercial photography and contemporary art scenes. The exhibition also explores his personal life through works created with his wife, Dovile Drizyte, reflecting their relationship, marriage, and parenting journey.
The display includes Teller's extensive collection of over forty artists' books produced with Gerhard Steidl of Steidl Verlag, Göttingen, as well as other significant publications and media, giving insight into the cultural backdrop of his oeuvre.
After its stint in Paris, the exhibition is set to move to the Milan Triennale in spring 2024. Complementing the exhibition, a unique lifestyle collection crafted by Vaccarello and Teller, including homeware, decorative objects, clothing, accessories, and vinyls, will be available at Saint Laurent Rive Droite stores in Paris, Los Angeles, and on YSL.COM.
