New York Fashion Week kicks off in just a few days, so we’re looking to the Big Apple to see what the six-day schedule has in store!
Running from February 9–15, NYFW is always an exciting time in the fashion world’s calendar, and this season is no different. Although some familiar and beloved faces will be absent – Tom Ford is presenting digitally, while Peter Do, Barragán, and Tommy Hilfiger won’t present at all – there are still many events to look forward to, as the event will feature over 75 designers.
Anna Sui, Rodarte, and Luar (who’s closing the week!) are all on our radar for amazing shows. And although there’s just one day for men’s and genderless shows, we nevertheless anticipate that the gender neutral/unisex trend, which has crept noticeably into general collections, will continue in New York.
As for the newcomers – well, they’re always one of our favourite parts of any fashion week, so we’re going to pay extra attention to the shows by Kallmeyer, Ayama Studio, and Zimo. These brands are all based in New York, so their first-time addition to the NYFW schedule is particularly gratifying. Between Kallmeyer’s classic and clean lines, Ayama’s street-style charm, and Zimo’s eclecticism, we think the trio is sure to make an impact.
