I don’t know if there’s something in the air, but my skin is dryyyy.
Blame it on the elements, blame it on a lack of hydration, blame it on the blistering hot showers I’ve been indulging in all winter long (oops) – whatever the cause, I’m a flaky, itchy mess and my face and body are in desperate need of serious nourishment.
Like, yesterday.
Which is why I’ve made it my mission to track down the best body oils and balms to give my skin that baby-soft feeling again.
The things I do as a writer for Casper, right?!
After testing about a squillion varieties (ok, maybe 12 or so), I’ve narrowed down my top 5. And to save you from doing any hard work, I’m sharing all of them right here.
You’re welcome!
Behold, the best oils and balms I (and the whole Casper team TBH), can’t get enough of
Bonus: they’re all cruelty-free, vegan-friendly and planet-conscious. Snap!
Let’s take a look.
I’ve been a fan of EcoTan for yonks and yonks. Their Winter Skin gradual tanner is the business, so to say I had high hopes for their Glory Oil would be an understatement. And oh my, it didn’t disappoint.
For one, it looks and feels like liquid gold. But most importantly, my skin seemed more supple the second I put it on.
Made from pumpkin seed oil, açai and inca inchi, this luxurious oil is designed to restore your skin’s natural radiance without feeling heavy or greasy. It’s suitable for all skin types and is especially effective for irritated skin, fine lines or scars.
What’s more, it’s organic, vegan, cruelty-free, toxic free and produced right here in Aus.
KORA Organics Noni Glow Body Oil
If there’s one thing Miranda Kerr has, it’s flawless skin. I used to think it was genetics but now I’ve discovered her secret: the Noni Glow body oil in her KORA Organics range.
Made from organic Noni extract, rosehip oil and sunflower seed oil, this luxurious, hydration elixir is multipurpose powerhouse for thirsty skin. Not only is it instantly nourishing, it also provides a dose of antioxidants and essential fatty acids, and it improves skin tone.
In short, it’s a must-buy if you have rough, dry or flaky skin. – I saw results within a matter of days!
It’s lightweight, non-greasy and will leave your skin feeling velvety soft. Plus, like the entire KORA Organics range, this oil is cruelty-free, certified organic and climate neutral.

Salt by Hendrix Body Glow Oils
If you’re after a body oil that doubles as a trip to the Bahamas, say g’day to Salt by Hendrix. Not only will this luxe oil revive tired, parched skin, it will also give you a subtle sun-kissed glow that will make feel like you’ve had two weeks in the Caribbean (even if you’ve just been lounging on your couch).
Available in three shades – a gorgeous golden bronze, a luminous gold pearl and a radiant blush pink – these oils provide instant hydration and are packed with good-for-you ingredients,
Crafted with coconut oil, along with camellia, apricot kernal, argan and jojoba oils, Salt by Hendrix body oils are vegan, full of vitamins and minerals and proudly made in Australia.
A Bit HIppy’s jojoba oil is a little bit of decadence in a bottle (but you can pick it up for less than $27, so it’s a total steal!).
It does exactly what it says on the bottle, too – “intensely hydrate your skin, scalp and hair.” While I haven’t put it through my locks yet (all in good time), I absolutely loved lathering it on my limbs after a warm shower, My sensitive skin lapped it right up and I felt deeply moisturised.
Hello, hydration!
But my favourite perk about this oil is how eco-conscious the brand is. A Bit Hippy’s mission is all about making soothing skincare that’s easy on your budget and the planet. The packaging is made from sugarcane, the labels are made from ground stone and they manufacture everything locally, which reduces their carbon footprint. Bravo!
Woo Hoo Bestie' Solid Body Moisturiser
To round out this lineup, please give a big ‘Woo Hoo’ to the Woo Hoo Bestie Solid Body Moisturiser. This one isn’t technically an oil but it needed a special mention because it locks in moisture so damn well.
Made from a delicious mix of plant oils and butters, it’s designed to strengthen the skin barrier and leave you feeling moisturised from tip to toe. The tangerine and lemon scent also smells seriously scrumptious.
Final props for its low plastic packaging (Woo Hoo is actually Certified Plastic Negative) and being run by a bunch of Aussies.
